Prof. Dong Zhijun of Shenzhen Aerogel Tech Speaks at 2025 Aerogel Forum

Recently, the 2nd 2025 Aerogel Industry Innovation & Development Forum was successfully held in Beijing, gathering industry elites and experts to discuss core topics including technological innovation, high-end manufacturing, green low-carbon development, and wide application of the aerogel industry.

As an invited guest, Prof. Dong Zhijun, Chief Scientist of Shenzhen Aerogel Technology Co.,Ltd and Dean of the Future Industry Technology Research Institute of Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology, delivered two keynote speeches: "High-performance, Low-cost Mass Production Technology of Silica Aerogel" and "Key Technologies for the Application of Silica Aerogel in Green Buildings".A renowned expert in green building materials and advanced functional materials, Prof. Dong focused on aerogel preparation, performance optimization, and industrialization. 

In his speech on green building applications, he elaborated on aerogel’s unique properties—ultra-lightweight, low density, nanoporous structure, high specific surface area, and high porosity—and highlighted its huge potential in the construction sector. He also introduced aerogel-based new building materials such as thermal radiation barrier intermediate paint, composite non-combustible insulation boards, and inorganic insulation pastes, which significantly improve building energy efficiency and comfort.In the speech on mass production technology, Prof. Dong shared the company’s innovative achievements: the chlorine-free, alcohol-free atmospheric pressure drying tunnel reactor mass production technology.
