Svenska Aerogel Secures Major Order from Outlast for Aerogel Powder

On December 5, 2025 (Swedish local time), Svenska Aerogel announced it has received its largest single material order to date – a SEK 924,000 commercial order from Outlast Technologies, a global leader in textile thermal management solutions.

The order is for aerogel powder used in Outlast’s Aersulate® product line, which integrates aerogel into flexible fabrics to boost insulation without adding weight. Aersulate® won the "Material Innovation of the Year" at the 2025 Innovative Textile Awards (hosted by WTiN) and is currently developed and produced in Germany.

 Independent tests show Aersulate®-treated fibers offer 35% better insulation than traditional fibers, while nonwovens with Aersulate® have a 78% higher thermal resistance.Outlast, with roots in NASA’s space program, plans to deploy Aersulate® fabrics and battings globally across high-value segments like bedding, safety gear, footwear, and apparel.
