The outer wall temperature of ethylene cracking furnaces in Fujian United Petrochemical generally ranges from 70℃ to 120℃, posing a high risk of personnel scalding. The traditional thermal insulation cotton solution is prone to water ingress, which leads to under-insulation corrosion. To address these issues, 3~5mm aerogel high-temperature coating was adopted for scald prevention and thermal insulation renovation. With a coating thickness of 3mm~3.5mm (ambient temperature 38℃), the outer surface temperature dropped significantly: from 82℃ (uncoated) to 51℃ after applying AG-C400 coating, while that of a competitor's coating was still 70℃. This renovation not only meets national scald prevention requirements (surface temperature below 60℃) but also reduces energy loss effectively. Compared with traditional solutions, it avoids under-insulation corrosion caused by water ingress, providing reliable protection for the furnace's safe and efficient operation.
