Aerogel Felt for CR400BF EMU Roof and chassis Insulation

In September 2022, aerogel felt was officially applied to the CR400BF intelligent configuration EMU in Beijing. For the EMU roof, the cold insulation materials for the pantograph’s flat roof area and end wall incorporate aerogel, glass fiber cotton, and sound insulation felt; meanwhile, the underframe’s fireproof materials consist of aerogel and fiberglass cloth. The adoption of aerogel felt has significantly enhanced the EMU's thermal insulation, heat preservation, sound insulation, and noise reduction capabilities. It also greatly minimizes heat dissipation loss, delivering remarkable energy-saving effects for the train operation.
