Subway Cold Water Pipe Insulation: AG-F Aerogel Insulation Felt Application

In Guangzhou, 2021, two DN100 chilled water pipes of 40m near the A-end control room passage of Tianhe Coach Station on Guangzhou Metro Line 3 had failed insulation and water leakage. One pipe was selected as a pilot, using AG-F aerogel insulation felt to replace the old insulation. With DN100 pipe, 7℃ internal medium temperature, 30℃ ambient temperature and 75% relative humidity, 15mm thick AG-F aerogel insulation felt was adopted, keeping the pipe surface temperature at 27.1℃, which meets the requirement of no condensation inside and on the insulation surface.
