Hospital Cold Storage Condensation and Mold Eliminated: 3mm AG-C Aerogel Coating Retrofit in Shenzhen Medical Facility

A top-tier tertiary hospital in Shenzhen operates a 6-story medical cold storage facility maintaining a steady 18°C year-round for pharmaceutical and reagent preservation. The absence of thermal insulation on cold storage ceilings caused persistent heavy condensation and mold growth in adjacent 5th-floor wards and lower-level rooms, requiring repainting every 3-4 months and generating ongoing maintenance costs while degrading ward environmental quality and hygiene standards.The hospital selected a 3mm AG-C Aerogel Insulation Coating System for retrofitting, applied to ceilings of the 6th-floor cold storage and 5th-floor wards. AG-C's ultra-low thermal conductivity effectively blocks the temperature differential-driven heat transfer between the cold storage environment and the adjacent occupied spaces, eliminating the surface temperature conditions that cause condensation to form on ceiling surfaces.Long-term monitoring after construction confirmed complete elimination of condensation and mold recurrence across all treated surfaces.
