Low-Carbon Aerogel Solutions for Historic Building Upgrade

Completed in May 2023, this project focuses on facade energy-saving renovation of Shanghai Book City. The original concrete envelope had no insulation layer. 2cm aerogel inorganic insulation paste is adopted for interior wall insulation, while 2mm AG-C aerogel thermal insulation coating is applied to the second-floor slab cornice. Featuring great thermal insulation and hydrophobic moisture-proof performance, the system uses scraping construction. Its carbon emission factor is only 1/2 to 1/3 of rock wool boards, meeting latest national standards with ultra-thin insulation layers.
