AG-F Aerogel Insulation Felt Application in Cement Plant Preheater System

In February 2021, a cement plant carried out thermal insulation and energy-saving renovation on its preheater system. AG-F aerogel insulation felt was used to replace traditional thermal insulation materials for tertiary air ducts, calciner, pre-combustion furnace and five-stage cyclone. Replacing the original 80–100 mm calcium silicate boards with 40 mm AG-F aerogel insulation felt increased the effective furnace volume and improved process conditions. Tests show its outer wall temperature is 15–20°C lower, reducing heat loss and fuel costs, eliminating material accumulation, cutting cleaning times and labor intensity, saving about 9900 USD per cleaning.
