Aerogel Insulation Blanket for Heating Pipeline Thermal Insulation & Energy Saving

Client’s heating pipeline project transports hot water with designed parameters: 150℃ supply water, 90℃ return water, 1.57MPa pressure, DN800 pipe diameter and 4587m length. Traditional perlite tiles/rock wool were replaced by AG-F650 aerogel insulation blanket, with 50mm thickness for supply pipes and 30mm for return pipes. Post-renovation, the temperature in the pipe trench stays below 40℃. The aerogel features overall hydrophobicity and long service life, reducing energy loss, maintenance costs and risks of confined space operations for personnel. Operating under harsh conditions (steam temperature: 568℃, pressure: 3.89Mpa, flow rate: 350t/h), the new aerogel solution showed remarkable advantages. Compared with the original 275mm-thick aluminum silicate, the aerogel insulation only required 95mm thickness (a reduction of 180mm). During full-load unit operation, the surface temperature after insulation dropped from 60℃ to 49℃, fully meeting strict technical requirements.
