Thermal & Acoustic Upgrade: Aerogel Reinforced PET Felt for Vehicle Use

Dongfeng Motor’s Material and Process Technology Center cooperates with our company to develop an aerogel composite insulation and noise reduction felt, aiming to upgrade the performance of traditional automotive PET fiber felts. The original PET base felt has a thermal conductivity of 0.035 W/(m·K), and after compounding with aerogel, the value drops to 0.020 W/(m·K), marking a remarkable improvement in thermal insulation and noise reduction performance. This tailored composite material combines the flexibility of PET fiber with the high-efficiency insulation of aerogel, meeting automotive lightweight and performance requirements. Prototype samples have been arranged for vehicle loading testing by the technology center to verify actual road performance and durability.
