Mining Pipeline Anticorrosion: AG-F Aerogel Insulation Felt Application

In Shanxi, 2021, a high-tech mining enterprise’s new pipeline project included 1500m flammable and explosive pipelines (high/low-concentration methane, hydrogen). To achieve long-term anticorrosion and insulation, AG-F aerogel insulation felt was recommended. A total of 900㎡ Class A AG-650 aerogel insulation felt (10mm thick, 3 layers) was adopted, reducing insulation thickness from 100mm to 30mm. With superior performance (0.020 W/m∙k thermal conductivity, 99.6% hydrophobicity, -197~650℃ temperature range), it solves rock wool’s poor water resistance, improves gas stability, reduces safety risks, extends pipeline life and lowers maintenance costs.
